….and meet our newest agent! Janell Carter has just joined CB Spinks Brown Durand, and rather than have ME tell you about her, I thought we’d let her do it herself. Because who doesn’t like to fill out a questionnaire about herself?

1. Why did you and your husband choose to settle in LaGrange?

My husband was born in the area, and with family still here we decided to buy property on West Point Lake and build a vacation home. Before it was completed, we Knew it was time to sell our mountain home so we could enjoy West Point Lake full-time.

2. Tell us about the most interesting place you have visited.

‘Interesting’ being the keyword, I would have to say the Black Hills of South Dakota. Facinated with rocks and fossils, I was taken with Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Driving through the mountains and prairies I was fascinated by seeing Elk, thousands of prairie dogs and herds of buffalo alongside the long deserted roadways.

3. Name the best book you have ever read.

I am a person with no favorite of anything whether it be a book, movie, color, etc.. Time changes such favorites and each has its special meaning in its own time. Favorite authors include Patterson, Steele, McDonald, Stuart Woods, Martin & others. Too many great authors, too many great books to name one. Was that diplomatic or what?

4. Give us your best piece of advice for today’s homebuyer.

Although the economy may not be at its best, just remember that the American Dream of owning a home is still very much alive.  With the $8,000.00 tax credit & record low interest rates, I believe buying a home is at its best!

5. You are a motorcyclist. What’s your best story?

Being a motorcycle touring enthusiast, one of my favorite experiences was riding down a road through the prairie surrounded by mountains, and getting stuck in the middle of a herd of buffalo crossing the roadway. Their presence was powerful, yet magnificent. It was fear replaced by awe. (I even have pictures to prove it!)
